Our management also conducts field inspections and employee reviews. We provide exceptional care to our pet clients while delivering great service to our human clients. Chiara's Pet Daycare service is located in or nearby Amsterdam, Noord-Holland.

So, now that you’re got the practical aspects of a trip to the Netherlands with your dog sorted, what you should spend your time doing? Here are my top recommendations for sightseeing with your dog. For some recommendations for dog-friendly restaurants in Amsterdam, check out the list on this post by an expat (which also lists some dog-friendly parks in Amsterdam).

In the new-and-improved pet resort you will see pets lounging in our living room space with the television on or music playing. You’ll see our kitchen and dining areas, both of which are complete with lots of relaxing places to stretch out. Our guests just love our leather couch, leather chairs, and especially our one-of-a-kind, custom-made dog beds. Karla and her team adore their guests and are always focused on the safety and mental, physical, and emotional well-being of their guests. More than anything, they want to instill the feeling of being loved.

In Amsterdam, where the public transport is run by GVB, the rules are quite generous. Pets travel for free, although they are required to be in a bag, on your lap or on a short lead. The same rules apply on the buses, trams and metro run by RET in Rotterdam. @mzbunnylady commented, "Pretty fur baby is confused why she is there. I hope and pray your new family finds you soon." That's all we want.
I know they’re in good hands
That is why we strive to make this experience as comforting and relaxed as possible for both pets and families alike. Give your pet the respect and dignity they deserve by helping them pass peacefully, surrounded by love, in the place they are the most content. Home Sweet Home Pet Resort is your one-stop destination for all-inclusive pet care.
It takes about 30 minutes to travel from Amsterdam to Edam by car or bus. The windmills are easily visited from Rotterdam by taking the waterbus, with dogs allowed on both the waterbus and at Kinderdijk. While visiting Rotterdam, we enjoyed staying at the Inntel Hotels Rotterdam Centre.
Travelling to the Netherlands with a Dog
There are a few unfortunate situations that force these animals to the shelters. Just take what happened to this sweet doggo named Vibe for example. I was quite disappointed that I was too late by a long shot when I visited in July, especially when I found out that dogs can join you for free.

When I can’t be home with them, I know they’re in good hands with the staff at HSH. I love receiving the pictures and updates when I am away – it makes my day. Along with internal GPS tracking, our staff provides you with an journal report with a recap of the walk or visit, including photos.
“Peaceful, loving, end of life care in the comfort of your home.”
I could also take care of your pet for more than one day. Note that as Schiphol Airport is a little south of Amsterdam, you don’t necessarily need to stay in Amsterdam, unless you would prefer. You can catch intercity trains directly from Schiphol Airport, with a total journey time of 1.5 hour to Hook of Holland (train + metro). The Netherlands, especially Amsterdam, is a popular destination in Europe to visit for all types of travellers. And if you’re thinking about bringing along your dog, don’t be worried, as it’s quite a dog-friendly destination. When we typically hear of animals getting surrendered to a shelter, we think about how those owners gave up, but that's not always the case.

Our dog Schnitzel was warmly welcomed and our room was quiet, despite the hotel being busy. The luxurious Kimpton chain is renown in the US for their very pet-friendly policy, and the Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam is just as pet-friendly. There is no charge for pets and no size restrictions, and beds, bowls and treats are provided. Whether you’re wanting to stay in a hotel, an apartment or at a campground, there’s plenty of dog-friendly options in the Netherlands. Dogs are generally allowed on all forms of public transport in the Netherlands, although the rules vary as to whether a ticket is required for dogs. And while dogs are usually welcome in most bars, I’d recommend staying away from the local “coffee houses” with your pup.

We offer cat and dog boarding, daycare, and grooming in our clean and comfortable facilities run by expert staff, 7 days a week, as well as home visits and rescue adoption. I’m afraid I can’t really help you with accommodation in Amsterdam. We stayed a little way outside of Amsterdam when we visited, on a house boat, which is definitely out of the question for you. There are quite a few pet-friendly hotels in Amsterdam, so look for something close to the central train station.
The standard EU rules apply to travelling to the Netherlands with your dog. Each play yard has layers and layers of pea stone to be gentle on the dogs’ paws. This stone is ideal for keeping our guests, cleaner and cooler in the summer while also filtering water for proper sanitation.

Constant attention is given to our guests via Karla, a small group of trained caregivers and volunteers who come in daily to play or snuggle with the guests. Our new security cameras provide live feed to Karla so that she can monitor each and every area of the pet resort at all times. There’s a limit of one larger dog per passenger, and the dog must be on a leash. In general, I like every type of pets, from dogs to cats, from tartles to rabbits. I have a lot of experience with animals and, in my hometown, I used to help friends with their pets whenever they needed me. I would like to start this experience in Amsterdam since I really love being in contact with animals, and sometimes I also miss it.
You can’t change an animals past, but you can help rewrite their future.
Alternatively, dine outside on one of the many outdoor terraces. Dogs will usually always be allowed to dine with you outside, and many terraces have a roof or awning to shelter you from the fairly frequent rain. This is the option we generally stuck to during our visit in summer .

You'll receive applications from pet backers who want to take care of your pet and you are free to select who suits you best. I regret not taking my dog for a bike ride while in the Netherlands! It’s easiest to bring along a small pup on your ride, as long as you have a basket on the front and they’re calm enough to ride inside it. Otherwise, just go for a wander around the cute streets of the town, with many delightful spots for photos with your pup.
